Taggiasca cultivar
Taggiasca is a native cultivar of Liguria, in particular the province of Imperia. This cultivar was imported to Italy by the monks of the Lérins monastery. The olives have a purplish-brown colour and an elliptical shape. This cultivar is used for the production of a PDO extra virgin olive oil, “Riviera Figure PDO”, as well as olives for the preparation of traditional dishes and as table olives.
