Pisciottana cultivar
The Pisciottana cultivar is native to Pisciotta, in the province of Salerno. The fruits of this cultivar have a purplish-red colour and ovoid shape. The inhabitants of Cilento use this variety to produce the crushed olives of Pisciotta, preserved with lime, ash, salt, bay leaves and chili pepper in terracotta containers.
