Coroncina cultivar
The Coroncina is an ancient cultivar, typical of the Marche region, particularly from the Macerata province. This variety owes its name to the projection of two carpels in a way that resembles a crown and to the fruit arrangement on the branches that seems a rosary beads. The drupes have a purplish red colour and an ovoid shape. Its fruits are mainly used for the production of oil, which has a fruity, bitter and persistent taste, with a pleasant artichoke note.
