On 24 and 25 September 2016 the “Search for the Perfect Food” campaign was at for the key Sport Expo 2016 event. Thousands of visitors had the opportunity to discover and appreciate quality European olives and olive oils through leaflets distributed around the event and tastings offered at our stand. The event mainly involved young people and families, providing a window on the world of sport represented by athletes, companies, schools and sports associations for various disciplines to meet citizens eager to get involved and live a healthier lifestyle. Sport Expo was sponsored by key institutional players, among them CONI, the Italian Olympics Committee, the Sardinian Regional Council, Cagliari Town Council, the Italian Ministry for Education, Universities and Research, the University of Cagliari, local business associations and the Port Authority. It was the first step in a drive to promote Cagliari, a candidate to become a European City of Sport in 2017, as an international sports centre. Over the next few years the city will be holding a number of important sporting events to promote sport and Sardinia. The highlight of the event was the award of the under-14 CONI Trophy to the winning region, which this year saw the Veneto region in first place, ahead of Lombardy and Lazio.

– 70,000 visitors overall.
